March 2019 Newsletter
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1)
Dear Friends and Family,
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus! We are so thankful to God for each of you who have partnered with us in ministry, for your prayers sustain us and your gifts allow us to continue to serve.
Update from the Bible Institute
Please continue to pray for the Bible Institute. The new semester is well under way. I am currently teaching Hermeneutics in both the residential and distance programmes, the second year Greek class, the book of Acts for a small group of students who had a scheduling conflict, and overseeing a few other courses. I continue to supervise a number of post-graduate students for the South African Theological Seminary. But as you know, I enjoy helping to equip students for ministry so this has been as source of encouragement for me as well.
Support Update
This past month has been a challenge, as we are booking our tickets to return to Canada after nearly two years away. It’s a bit complicated, but some of us need to renew our visas. I am still a bit unclear as to exactly who needs what, but we are working with an immigration consultant to find the best path forward. Our goal is to get permanent residence so that we will no longer need to depend on visas. Please pray that God will open this path for us, and also provide for our needs as I expect that there will be significant short term costs as we hope to reduce our expenses over the long term.
The result is that I expect there may be some significant one-time expenses in the near future. Please pray that God will provide for our needs as we seek to glorify him in our lives and by our service.
Prayer Requests
Please continue to pray for Anna and Hannes as they prepare for their wedding this May! The pictures in this month’s newsletter are from Anna and Hannes’s engagement photos.
Pray for Sarah as she has returned to BI to begin another year of studies (Anna is taking a break this semester in preparation for the wedding), and for Katie as she continues to homeschool (the battle is real!)
Pray for me as I continue to minister at the Bible Institute. Please also pray that my breathing will improve after a persistent bout of bronchitis.
Pray for Kristina as she continues to serve at iThema school while also ministering to the students at the Bible Institute in many ways, as well as taking care of things at home.
Blessings in Christ,
Tim & Kristina Churchill
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:10)
