July 2016 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings from St. John’s! We give thanks to God for each of you as your prayers and gifts have sustained us through this season of transition. While we wait to apply for our South African visas we are reminded of the wisdom of Solomon: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9). Despite our best efforts the way forward is unclear. We still expect to have our visas and arrive in South Africa before the end of August, but we know that everything will happen in God’s time. “Where can I go from your Spirit? … If I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast” (Psalm 139:7-10).

Our visits to supporting churches over the past month are still fresh in our minds. Early in June we shared special times with our dear brothers and sisters at Ardsley Bible Chapel and North Quabbin Bible Church. This past Sunday we were so blessed by the commissioning service at our home church in St. John’s, Calvary Baptist, as the church family prayed for us in sending us on to our new ministry in South Africa. On July 22 we depart St. John’s to visit with Kristina’s family.

Support Update
Our support needs have been changing as we receive updated from supporters and as our budget and needs become more clear. As of the beginning of July, our ongoing monthly need is now $550 per month, and our estimated one-time need is now $9,500, as we anticipate additional travels costs caused by the delay in receiving our FBI background checks.

Please pray that God will provide for our financial needs as we prepare to move to our new ministry at the Bible Institute of South Africa. If you would like more information about how you can give in support our ministry please send us an e-mail or Facebook message.

Prayer Requests

  • Praise for meetings with supporting churches in Canada and the United States;
  • Pray that our FBI background checks come soon so that we can apply for our South African visas;
  • Pray that God will provide a job for John as he has recently graduated from Memorial University.

Blessings in Christ,

Tim & Kristina Churchill
