May 2013 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Family,

It’s hard to remember all the events of the past month. The first week of April was the end of the term at TCCA, so there were lots of papers and exams to mark. The following week was our annual SIM Zambia conference. During this time I needed a root canal to fix a tooth that had been bothering me for quite a while.

Yet these events seem distant now. My parents generously arranged for us to meet them in London, England. We’ve enjoyed the time we’ve been able to spend together with them and the memories we’ve made together. John has also joined us here and will be returning to spend a few months with us in Ndola before returning to St. John’s in August.

Soon after we arrive home we will have our first visitor from outside Zambia. Cecilia is a family friend that we’ve known since our time in Philadelphia in the 1990’s. In fact, she and John were born several months apart and were good friends where they were little. Cecilia will be with us for a few weeks in May and June.

We give thanks to God for his goodness in blessing us in so many ways. We are also thankful for your faithful prayers and gifts over the past month. May God bless you richly in Christ!

Prayer Requests

  • For safe travel back to Zambia
  • For Cecilia as she travels to visit us
  • For me as I teach several courses next term
  • That God will provide for a shortfall in our monthly support and for the deficit in our SIM account

Blessings in Christ,
