July 2012 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Our first few weeks in Zambia have been ones of waiting as the renovations on our house have not yet been completed. God has been teaching us to be patient as we learn the meaning of “Africa time”.

We left St. John’s on June 12 and arrived in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia, on June 14 after two overnight flights. The following days were quite busy as we were looked for and purchased a vehicle, got our extended visa applications approved, looked for furniture and appliances, and got to know our fellow SIM members who serve in Lusaka. We also made a day trip to Ndola to check on the progress of renovations at our house. Much work had been done, but much still remained.

After two weeks we had finished most of our business in Lusaka but were still waiting for our Ndola house to be ready. Rather than sitting idle in our guesthouse we decided to explore Zambia by visiting Livingstone, about 7 hours drive west of Lusaka. In our two days there we experienced the truly breathtaking Victoria Falls, saw some amazing African wildlife on safari, cruised the Zambezi River, and walked with cheetahs. Visit our website, timothychurchill.com, for pictures from this trip.

After returning to Lusaka we were finally able to book in at a guesthouse in Ndola. On July 3 we made the move from Lusaka to Ndola. We’re still not in our new home yet, but we are closer.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray that God would give us a love for the people of Zambia, and that He would reveal the works He has prepared for each one of us to do here (Ephesians 2:10).
  • Pray that Kristina, Tim, Anna, Sarah, and Katie would adjust quickly to our new home and surroundings, and that God would provide us with new friends as we begin a new life in Ndola.
  • Pray that John would find ways to minister here before he returns to St. John’s next month.

Visit www.timothychurchill.com for articles and photo albums from Zambia that you won’t want to miss. Please let us know if you would like more information about partnering with us in prayer or giving in support of our ministry (we are currently at 95% of full support).

Blessings in Christ,

Tim & Kristina Churchill
