June 2012 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Our bags are nearly packed as we prepare to leave for Zambia on June 12. Thank you for your prayers and for your generous gifts over the past month.
The reality of our upcoming move is starting to set in. Most of our belongings have been boxed, packed, or given away. We’ve also been busy visiting friends and meeting with our partners in ministry. We are thankful for the opportunity we had to share during several services at Faith Bible Chapel in May. We’re looking forward to the potluck supper that Calvary Baptist Church has planned for the Sunday before we leave.
We recently received two e-mails from Zambia that have affected our budget. The first involves our house in Ndola. SIM Zambia has rented a house for us across the street from TCCA. The house is old and requires extensive renovations to make it habitable. Last week we learned that the renovations will cost much more than anticipated. Then earlier this week we learned that a recent change to Zambia’s immigration policy will result in another expense. Both of these news items were unexpected, leaving us significantly short of our one-time budget. Please let us know if you have any questions about these new expenses.
We remain at 94% of our ongoing support budget, or $400 per month short of our goal. Please pray that God will provide for our remaining one-time and monthly support needs so that we can be at 100% of our budget by the time we leave for Zambia. We also ask that you pray for our family as our move draws near and as we begin life in Zambia.
